Canal de la Huerta is a water management company based in Novelda. The facilities have a turbine that is over 30 years old, and that has become obsolete. Its efficiency has been considerably reduced over time, and can only run for a few hours. This reduces Co2 emissions to: 163 ton CO2-eq
Renovating the facilities with a new turbine that adapts to current hydraulic conditions.
Installing a 32 kW Hydroregen turbine that works in parallel with the old turbine and that covers a higher range of hydraulic conditions, thereby improving efficiency.
The micro hydro plant has been modernised to adapt to new conditions, and the original turbine has not been wasted.
