The European Comission visits our headquarters in Almoradí (Alicante)

A few days ago, we had the honour to welcome Vanessa Ricci, project officer of the EC at our operative headquarters in Almoradí (Alicante, Spain).

The Tecnoturbines team, together with the Madrid based company Sendekia, did a demonstration of the technology developed with the Hydrolowhead turbine, a project which is currently in the SME Instrument Phase 2, within the innovation support program H2020 of the European Comission. The project has a total budget of 1.5 million Euros and the European Comission subsidizes up to a maximum of 70%.

Since 2016, Tecnoturbines and Sendekia work on the development and market launch of the Hydrolowhead turbine, a technology based on the variable speed of rotation of the electronically controlled turbine. This avoids the use of the mechanical regulating elements which are traditionally used to maintain the speed of rotation of the turbines. Thanks to its patented technology, it is estimated that the Hydrolowhead turbine will be able to generate up to 35% more electrical energy than the conventional turbines.
